1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the HearBrew application ("App") and related services ("Services"), operated by The Light Lounge Trading Co., Limited ("Light Lounge", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.
2. Account Registration
To use certain features of the App, you may need to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Promptly update your information if it changes
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
3. Subscription and Payments
HearBrew offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchases ("IAP").
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly basis
- Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
- Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policy
- We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice
4. User Content and Conduct
When using our Services, you agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use automated systems to access the Services without permission
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
5. User-Generated Content & Zero Tolerance Policy
HearBrew may allow users to submit content, including (but not limited to) video links, learning notes, vocabulary entries, comments, profile information, and other materials ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you represent that you own or have the necessary rights to it and that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable laws.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. HearBrew has a strict zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. You agree NOT to submit, post, transmit, or otherwise make available any content that:
- Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or contains nudity
- Depicts graphic violence, gore, self-harm, or content that promotes harm to others or oneself
- Constitutes harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or stalking of any individual or group
- Contains hate speech, or promotes discrimination, racism, sexism, or violence against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Endangers, exploits, or sexualizes minors in any way
- Promotes illegal activities, terrorism, dangerous goods, or controlled substances
- Contains spam, phishing, fraud, scams, malware, or other malicious or deceptive content
- Infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property or proprietary right
- Contains personal or identifying information about other people without their explicit consent (doxxing)
- Is otherwise objectionable, offensive, or inappropriate as determined by HearBrew in its sole discretion
Reporting objectionable content and abusive users. You can report any objectionable content or abusive user directly within the App by tapping the report icon associated with the content or user, or by emailing support@hearbrew.com with details. Every report is reviewed by our moderation team.
Blocking abusive users. You may block any other user from interacting with you or your content directly within the App. Blocked users will no longer be able to view, comment on, or otherwise interact with your account.
Moderation and removal. HearBrew will review every report of objectionable content or abusive behavior and take appropriate action within 24 hours of receiving the report. Appropriate actions may include, without limitation: removing the content, issuing warnings, suspending the offending account, or permanently banning the user from the Services. Users who violate these Terms or this Zero Tolerance Policy will have their accounts terminated immediately and without refund. We may also report illegal content or activity to the relevant law-enforcement authorities.
License to user content. By submitting User Content, you grant HearBrew a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely as necessary to operate, improve, and provide the Services to you. You retain ownership of your User Content.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by HearBrew and protected by intellectual property laws. Video content displayed within the App is sourced from third-party platforms and remains the property of their respective owners.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services without prior written consent.
7. Third-Party Content & YouTube Advertisements
Video playback in HearBrew is delivered by YouTube's official embedded player. Because of this, during clip playback you may occasionally see:
- YouTube advertisements (pre-roll, mid-roll or banner)
- YouTube-native interface elements such as end-screen cards, channel watermarks, or links to related videos
- Other content or promotional material served directly by YouTube
These are served by YouTube, not by HearBrew. HearBrew has no control over which advertisements are shown, does not receive any revenue from them, and is not responsible for their content. Your interaction with YouTube's player is additionally governed by YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. HearBrew does not guarantee that:
- The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Any specific learning outcomes will be achieved
- The content will be accurate, complete, or current at all times
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HearBrew shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Services at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
